A CELEBRATION OF UNITY AND GIVING
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
It is the difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

EVERY CHILD MATTERS

July 18th marks Nelson Mandela’s birthday, a day officially declared by the United Nations in 2009. To honour his legacy, St Joseph’s is celebrating Mandela’s birthday throughout July. Be part of this special commemoration and make a difference in the lives of children.
“Every day a life is changed at St Joseph’s. Many children and their families arrive at our gates not only with the burden of ill health but poor nutrition and economic insecurity,” says Christelle Cornelius, Chief Executive Officer at St Joseph’s. “We believe that every child is deserving. Affording free care to the most vulnerable members of society helps change the lives of patients and those who care for them. Your support and donations towards, nappies, clothes, food, toys, or any in-kind support will help us make this change for the many children who will have a second chance at childhood.”
St Joseph’s is committed to providing critical healthcare services to children from underserved communities at no cost to their families. With an average stay of six months per child, the management, staff, and clinical teams are unwavering in their dedication, but they need your help. In the spirit of Mandela Day’s 67 minutes of giving, your support through monetary contributions will directly impact the lives of these young patients. Donate R67, R670,
R6 700 to ensure that these young patients receive the care they deserve. Every cent counts towards making a difference in their lives.
As a registered NPO, St Joseph’s can provide donors with a Section 18A tax certificate. Donations made to St Joseph’s now also offer tax benefits in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Mandela Day is a global call to make a positive impact in one’s community and beyond, honouring Mandela’s legacy of social justice and humanitarianism. The children at St Joseph’s are looking forward to sharing 67 seconds, 67 minutes, a wave, or a smile with you on Mandela Day.
Let’s honour Mandela’s legacy together and create a brighter future for the young patients at St Joseph’s.
